a little bit of Finn
You poor readers! You haven't had your Finn Fix in almost a week and a half. I've been otherwise engaged and you're paying the price.
Here are some photos of Finn and raven-haired muse Ella as they share a meal. Cheers!

The First Beach Day of '08!
Finn and Daddy took advantage of a cloudless Sunday to hightail it out to the beach. While Gramma sends us reports of snow from Seattle (!), we set out for a day of sand castles and rock skipping. Followed by some frolicking in the lakeside park and a trip to "Old" McDonald's for lunch.
A perfect day!

Bathtime!
You'd think the bath would be over when the water's gone, but not so with Finn! He needs to be forcibly removed from the tub even when he's shivering violently and nudging around his pathetically beached toys...Posted by shawn at 05:27 PM | Comments (0)

Finn's First Visit to the Pros
Though I thought I was doing a bang-up job as Finn's stylist, Mommy felt differently. The ragamuffin look is in, I tell her, but she won't listen. So, now he's gonna look all respectable.
In order to ease any anxiety, I got my hair cut first. He thought it looked pretty entertaining, and got started with a different Supercutter before I was even done. Once I was good and respectable-looking, I snapped a few pictures of an extremely well-behaved little guy with a couple of hair technicians tag-teaming him.
In addition to the balloon and the sucker they gave him, he was rewarded with a trip to Jeff's Red Hots for a hot dog--NO MUSTARD!

Sunny Sunday at the Zoo
Yesterday, Finn and I went to the zoo with his little friend, Ella. Here they are sharing lunch on a parkbench. Ella was especially cute this day. With her pink trench coat, ponytail, and big sunglasses (not shown in this photo), she looked like a tiny little Jackie O. Her cuteness was definitely turning heads.
Finn is so into his friends now. He invites everyone over to his house, then invites himself over to their houses. We saw his friend, Sammy, at the park the other day and he literally squealed with delight. The two of them ran around the park at top speed, chasing each other and playing until we literally had to drag them home.
It's funny in that we've reached a milestone with playdates where both mommies needn't be present. Finn went over to Lilah's house Saturday for hours, and told me, "Mommy, you can go home now." (Believe me, Mommy has no problem with that.) And his little friends have been coming over here a lot, which has been a lot of fun.
The first thing he says each morning is usually something like, "Mommy, can you call Sammy's mommy to see if he come over? And Cal? And Lilah, too? Can we have a party? You can come, too."
