Mr. Romance
Finn has really gone through a shift in the last month from rough-and-tumble toddler into a real mama's boy. I think he senses what is coming and is trying to stake out his territory while there's still time.
But I have to say, I'm kind of loving it. He is constantly giving me kisses, saying "I love you, mama!" and giving me compliments. ("Mama, I love your shoes!" or "Your hair is nice.") Every time he finds a dandelion, he picks it and gives it to me and recently told me that I'm the "bestest mommy."
There are little moments when he's very sincere and it's touching. A few weeks ago, we were eating lunch, and he said, "Mommy, I like spending time with you." Last week, walking home from Marilynn's after we dropped friends off at their house, he said, "I like it when it's just you and me, Mama. Daddy and Santos, too." And when a babysitter came last week, he said, "I don't like it when Mommy and Daddy leave. Even though I know they always come home, I still don't like it." And "Mommy, I always love you."
So, yes, this little guy does have a bunch of changes in store. And I predict that it will be kind of rough for him for a while. But we know he'll be just fine because his Mama and Daddy think he's the bestest, too.
