Finn with the adopted neighborhood cat
This kitty belongs to a family one street away. But lately, she's been coming to visit a lot, which just thrills Finn. He usually doesn't get a chance to pet cats, as most run when they see a young boy barreling towards them. But this one even makes our dear Santos look standoffish in comparison—she nuzzles, purrs, follows you around, and gets right in your lap. She even lets Cormac pet her—an enormous leap of faith.
I really hope that both Finn and Cormac never lose this love of animals that they have. They really adore all animals and just light up when they see one. Finn is very nurturing—when we visited a farm, we met a three-legged cat who was also blind. Finn fed him by hand, left a trail of food to his water dish (so he could find it), and was just so kind of gentle with them. Cormac's first word was literally "dog-dog" and he still goes nuts whenever he sees one on the street, pointing, waving, and saying "awwwww."
